Girls Varsity Softball · Eastside Christian Lady Eagles grab 3-2 lead in 6th inning with a victory over Laguna Beach HS

The Lady Eagles ran off with the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Laguna Beach on Monday. The game was tied at two with ECHS batting in the top of the sixth, when an error scored one run for the Lady Eagles.  ECHS got things started in the first inning when Tori Marvel grounded out, scoring one run. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Laguna Beach tied things up at two when an error scored two runs.

Tori Marvel was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. She went five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five. Tereise Tosi threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tosi recorded the last six outs to earn the save for ECHS. ECHS collected seven hits on the day. Aubry Lucero and Tereise Tosi each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Eagles. Ashley Arce just missed a homerun late in the game, as the ball soared to deep left center field, hitting the fence for a stand up double.

The Lady Eagles look to continue their winning streak as they face their fourth public school team, Whitney HS, next week.
